You guys, we’re getting closer to our moving to our new home! We are through inspections at our current house and new home and hope to have a closing date scheduled soon. The past few weekends we’ve spent cleaning out the basement and purging, there is no basement at the new house so it is forcing us to go through things and decide what we really need to take with us. In the midst of cleaning and packing of course I’m day dreaming about paint colors and projects at the new house. It will be a work in progress with big projects like the kitchen happening a little while down the road. But to begin with we’ll be painting and changing out light fixtures. Hopefully that will hold me over for a few months to get settled in and plan what we want to tackle next.
The kitchen, living and dining are all open to each other so I’ve picked one color for the space, Mount Saint Anne by Benjamin Moore. I thought about a light and bright neutral but keep going back to some shade of blue-gray. With how open the space is and how much light it gets I think it will add just the right amount of color.
Throughout the rest of the entries, halls, spare bath and bedrooms we’ll use Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray. I have always gravitated toward tan neutrals than gray but this seems like the perfect mix of the two and will work well with existing furniture while adding some warmth. The master bath is connected to the master bedroom and will mainly be the bathroom I use, so I’m trying something a little different and using Benjamin Moore Wet Concrete. We’re keeping all of our furniture and bedding so it will be coming off of the bedroom filled with white and gray and will add a touch of fun color.
I’m trying to be patient and enjoy the time we have left in our first home but I’m so excited to move and get painting!
